The
Abington Police Department continues its commitment
to the community in which we serve. You will notice
our theme is “Community Partners” and you
will see those words printed on each of our cruisers,
our sign and on many other things associated with us.
In an effort to continue our efforts to improve this
town and maintain a “true partnership” we
are opting to organize a road race in an attempt to
fill a void that severe fiscal cuts have left in our
youth programs. All the proceeds from this event will
go directly to the Abington Park and Recreation Committee,
to be used to offset some of the costs associated with
maintaining our youth programs.
In
the last year, faced with severe cuts in local aide,
we’ve heard many people say “what can I
do?”, and albeit this is a small thing, it’s
something you can do to start to make a difference.
Come out on May 22nd and run, walk or just stop by and
support this event by donating what you can to such
a worthwhile cause, the active lives of our children. |
