ABINGTON
POLICE MOBILE COMMAND CENTER
| This
equipment was purchased to satisfy a need for mobile operations.
In the past our department was forced to conduct incident
management from the trunk of a police cruiser exposed
to the elements and faced with the limitations that that
type of environment presents. Having a mobile command
post is in line with the federal government’s requirements
since 9/11 allowing us to set up an incident command post
at any location and is equipped with the latest communications
equipment to improve interoperability with other police
and public service agencies. |
 |
| It
is fully self contained to allow officers to work from
the unit on a 24 hr basis, this includes having a bathroom,
running water, and a self contained generator for power.
The computer equipment in this unit allows us to communicate
with the stations in-house records and dispatch system
along with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Criminal
Justice Information System all allowing instant records
checks on vehicles and subjects officers encounter. |
