We are extremely proud of our community and the programs offered by the Abington Police Department.
Our philosophy is that interactive and proactive policing along with continuous education for our officers is the way to maintaining a high quality of life for all that live, work or pass through this town.

Our main objective is to make the Town of Abington a place where people would like to reside and raise their families. We currently have 24 full time officers and 20 Auxiliary Officers.

In appreciation of his more than 40 years of service to the town, Chief David Majenski recognizes Retired Police Chief Richard L. Franey.  Chief Franey's community orientated philosophy of policing continues to be the model that the department followings and has been emulated by several other area departments.  Additionally he is  credited with bringing in and utilizing advanced technology to the department in order to help achieve this goal.  His unselfish and tireless dedication to the town has helped make Abington a better place to reside.
