Come ‘on, Get a team together! What a great way to compete against others, even if you’re not the best runner. I would love to see businesses or established organizations get a minimum of (3) people together to run for a great cause and build a little esprit de corps.
Years ago, during the road race on July 3rd the Abington Police would compete against the Abington Fire. The winner would then get a trophy to have for the year until next year.
What a great time this was, especially since the police would always win! Or at least that’s how I remember it…HA! I know I’ll be working hard to get at
least three runners from the police department to form a team…so join
me and others to see who comes out on top!!

How many runners/walkers can I have on my team?
The sky’s the limit, however, only the three top finishers on your team will be counted towards the team’s score. The more the merrier, get as many of your employees or members as you can! On the other hand, if you’re a small organization, you only need at least three people to form a team
What does it cost to register a team?
There is a onetime fee of $40 which is accessed to the organization to register
as a team; it also covers the team captain’s race entry. Not a bad price to get everyone together for a chance at bragging rights for a year. Remember, all
the proceeds are going to a good cause.

The team captain submits a registration form with her name and the team’s name on it with $40
Each of the remaining 4 members submits registration forms with their name and the team’s name on it and *$15/each .
The total paid by Team HotShot is $100 (*increases to $20 each 5/3/14)
||If I’m on a team, do I still have to fill out a race registration form and pay the registration fee?
Yes, all runners/walkers need to fill out the form and individually pay the entry fee only, not another $40. The $40 dollar fee is only accessed once and that is accessed to the team as a whole and covers 1 individual entry.
If our team wins, what do we get?
Bragging rights is the top prize; however, we will give you accolades and announce your team’s name in front of the award crowd. We will also have
a trophy which you can display at your business or group location and oh
don’t forget, you had a great time, you reached a fitness goal and you did
it all for a good cause. Problem is you will have to defend your title
Can we wear team colors or uniforms?
Of course, what a great way to advertise and get noticed! If your group gets t-shirts made up the Chief wears an XL and I wear a Large,…. just saying….ha!
Who inspired this team stuff?
Years ago The Cellar and J.P. Ryan’s Tavern of Abington each had a group
of runners enter. They all wore unique shirts and many ran as a group.
It was this that got me thinking about a team competition. I would like
to thank them for their participation and I hope they can make it again
How do I register my team?
Just fill out a registration form and include on it your team’s name and $40.
Tell everyone in your group the team name and they must write it down on
their individual entry form. Each member will then submit an entry form with their individual entry fee $15/$20. To be counted as part of the team they
must write in their team affiliation on the entry form.
